Thomas James is an award winning writer, director & artist originally hailing from Wolverhampton, England. His work often toys with notions of horror and the sublime, the poetic and the uncanny. In 2023 he won Best Director at the Creative Circle Awards.

Thomas has created films for a range of musicians, including Young Fathers, Primal Scream, Paloma Faith, Bring Me The Horizon, Fat White Family, Sam Fender and Ghostpoet.

He has created numerous commercial pieces, for clients including Doritos, Bolt, Natwest & Ballantines. He has had narrative works commissioned by Jonas Akerlund, the charity Department for Opportunities, The Museum of Witchcraft & a global VOD film with the English National Ballet & Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui.

His first feature film ‘Tender Omens’ is currently in casting with Independent Entertainment, Hero Squared & Lowkey Films, having been announced in 2024. A second feature project, surreal drama anthology ‘Whispered Rituals for the Modern Day Butcher’ is in pre-production.
