Lily Rose Thomas

Lily is a London based writer and director. Originally from a photography background, she made the transition into the moving image via music videos. She then worked in video at i-D magazine before leaving to focus on her directing career in 2017. Since then she has collaborated with a range of musical artists on music videos, and directed content for a global brands including Nike, Adidas and PayPal. Her first short film, Girls Who Drink (2018) is an abstract study of three young women’s complex relationship with alcohol from the night before to the morning after. Written and directed by Lily, it was featured on the programme at BAFTA qualifying festivals LSFF, Underwire and Leeds Film Festival where it was in the competition, amongst others. Her feature script, Girls Who Drink, co-written by Siofra Dromgoole, was developed by Agile Films, and lead to a proof-of-concept short 'Down, Down, Down', starring Dolly Wells, Celia Imrie and Liv Hill which was premiered by Minute Shorts. Lily is a Film London Mentor BAFTA Connect Member for 2022/2023, and part of the 2025 Director’s Inspire cohort, being mentored by Georgi Banks-Davies.
