Charlotte Evans is a filmmaker and editor with over 16 years of experience in the industry. She trained under esteemed British editor Rick Waller, and her strong foundation in editing continues to inform her instinctive, emotionally resonant approach to storytelling. For Charlotte, storytelling is a privilege—not a right—and she approaches every project with a strong sense of social responsibility and respect for the people whose lives she documents.

Charlotte has directed award-winning music videos for artists including Kimbra, Aldous Harding, Benee, The DMA’s, and Marlon Williams. In 2018, she directed Give Kate A Voice, a short film commemorating 125 years of women’s suffrage in New Zealand, which won multiple awards. Her short documentary OK Chlöe (2020), an intimate portrait of Green MP Chlöe Swarbrick, was acquired by The New Yorker Documentary and featured on The Guardian, Short of the Week, and at festivals worldwide. Building on its success, Charlotte is now in post-production on the feature-length follow-up, The Weight of Change, which she directed, shot, and edited. Spanning nearly a decade, the film has already secured a local broadcast presale and received international sales interest ahead of its 2025 premiere.

In 2024, her second documentary Nowhere To Be—a global collaboration capturing the lives of cinematographers during the COVID-19 lockdown—premiered at Sydney’s Vivid Festival. Charlotte is currently in development on her debut narrative feature We’re Just Fine and three original television series.
