After starting his career as a fine artist, Alan quickly realised that film was where his passions lay. During his studies in Dublin and The Royal College, he turned his hand to making atmospheric and beautiful films. His campaigns for Morrison’s, ASDA and Iceland perfectly illustrate his natural flair for food, performance and his meticulous eye for fine detail.
As a natural storyteller, Alan also pours his talents into making short films and developing feature scripts. In this way, he threads together his mastery of capturing natural performances from everyday people in real settings, with the classic warmth and lyrical quality that characterises all his work.
His latest short film 'Cake' starring Maxine Peake (Black Mirror) and Letitia Wright (Black Panther) won the Best International Short Film under 15 mins at the Kinsale Shark Awards and the Best Comedy Short at the London Independent Film Awards along with numerous official selections from around the world.
His comedy campaign for Bakers makes working with animals look easy and 2021 he has seen him busy shooting numerous commercials amongst which have been films for Friskies, the AA and Secret Escapes.
